Hitchcock sentenced to 40 years

A former Chandler High School band director has pleaded guilty to child sexual abuse and has been handed five 40-year prison terms.

Warren D. Hitchcock, 42, of Chandler, was charged in Lincoln County District Court in November of last year with 15 felony counts of child sexual abuse and one violation of the Oklahoma Statute Via Computer, a felony.

The five prison sentences are to run concurrently.

The crimes Hitchcock committed require that he serve a mandatory 85 percent of the time handed him.

Lincoln County District Judge Cindy Ash-wood handed out the sentences last week.

She also assessed $100 fines and $100 VCA costs to Hitchcock on each of those five counts.

He was ordered also to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

Court records show that as a result of a plea agreement between Hitchcock and the DA, 10 other counts of sexual abuse were dismissed.

According to the charges filed, each of the child sexual abuse felonies Hitchcock pleaded guilty to he committed between Nov. 1, 2013, and Jan. 10, 2018.

He was accused of sexually abusing a minor child.

Davis emphasized that Hitchcock did not commit any of the crimes at any of the Chandler schools.

District Attorney Allan Grubb commented, “I am working hard to remove child predators from our communities to protect our children. We will keep sending these predators to prison to keep our communities and children safe.”
