10 more COVID-19 deaths

The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has climbed by five each in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties over the past week, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports.

In Lincoln County, the five additional deaths reported include a female in the 36-40 age group, a male in the 50-64 age group and three males 65 or older, the OSDH said.

Lincoln County now has 48 reported deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The 48 deaths compare to 43 a week ago, the OSDH reports.

In Pottawatomie County, the five more deaths include a female in the 36- 40 age group, two females 65 or older and information on the other two has not been provided by the OSDH.

The 60 deaths compare to 55 a week ago, the OSDH said.

Over the past week, the number of positive cases has risen in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties, OSDH figures show.

The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 244 in the last week and in Lincoln County they increased by 87, accord ing to figures provided by the OSDH.

Between the two counties, the number of positive tests has jumped by 331 in the last seven days.

Lincoln County’s number this week is 2,929. A week ago it was 2,842. Two weeks ago it was 2,729 the OSDH said.

The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County this week stands at 7,462. Last week it was 7,218. The county’s total two weeks ago was 6,989.

A week ago that number stood at 10,060. Two weeks ago the number was 9,718.

Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is now 9,699, the OSDH said. In Pottawatomie County, 6,980 have recovered and 2,719 have recovered in Lincoln County.

Statewide as of Tuesday, 406,064 people have tested positive, there have been 3,870 deaths and 377,678 who have recovered. Active cases stand at 24,516 the OSDH reports.

Last week there were 392,164 testing positive, there had been 3,602 deaths and 360,702 had recovered. There were 27,860 active cases a week ago.

This week on Tuesday, the OSDH reported 1,070 new positive cases confirmed and 53 additional deaths.

The OSDH reports more than 2.9 million people have tested negative.
