Area athletes turned in some impressive performances in the regional track meets last Friday and Saturday. Chandler junior Jessie Brannon ran the fastest qualifying time in the state in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking a 47.73, which was more than a second faster than the best time in the other three regionals. As teams, Stroud’s girls won the 2A regional they hosted and Chandler’s girls took second in the 3A regional at Chisholm. Area teams are back in action Thursday and Friday, with Davenport going to the Class A state meet on Saturday in Cherokee, Stroud going to the Class 2A meet in Ardmore on Saturday and Chandler, North Rock Creek, Meeker and Prague going to the 3A meet Friday in Catoosa.
