1.Update on Meeker Lake Project
A contract was let out for a contractor to take the overflow water pipe apart for the camera inspection. The camera inspection of the pipe has been completed. Now we wait for the engineer report.
2. Update on Glenncrest Park
At the June 15th Meeker Trustee meeting, the council did approve for me to purchase the 2 playground sets, and other equipment. This approval was necessary because the purchase was above my approved $7500 limit. All the playground equipment was ordered and delivery date is scheduled for Monday July 27th. The company will send four of their men for construction for the borders and playground sets. Estimated construction time is four days, weather permitting.
3. Remember July is Ice Cream month
4. Update on COVID19 Pandemic
Our numbers in Lincoln County are very low. Thanks to everyone for following the Governor’s orders. Let us all keep on social distancing at least 6 feet apart, wash hands often, use hand sanitizer often and keep your surroundings clean and sanitized.
It is still optional whether to wear a mask or not here in Lincoln county.
5. Update on Sales tax
Our sales tax and usage tax was up again this month. This proves you are spending your money at home and I thank you for it. Let us keep it up! Hopefully, this will be over soon and we can get back to somewhat of a normalcy.
I see notices at the banks and businesses about coin shortage. I think the year 2020 is sure going to be a year we will surely remember yet a year we would like to forget. Anyway, it is here and we all get to deal with it; it could be worse. Times like these are when we need to remember to count our blessings and love our family and friends.
Thank you, again, for supporting all our local businesses with your purchases.
Meeker welcomes Whiskey Wings, a new B.B.Q. eatery that has huge wings, bologna, chicken bites, baked beans, ribs and they slice a fresh potato thin and deep fry it like chips. They also have snow cones. As hot as it has been, they better freeze up a lot of ice for those snow cones.
