Davenport’s Bulldogs held off Garber, 42-34, Friday night to advance to the third round of the playoffs.
The Bulldogs head to Summit Christian Friday to face the Eagles at 7 p.m.
Now 9-1 and coming off a bye in the first round of the playoffs, the Bulldogs got out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter on a four-yard scoring run by Carson Funk.
Funk scored again on a 1-yard and hit Colten Van Fossen conversion pass to make it 14-0
Garber made it 14-6, but AJ Jenkins scored on a 25-yard fumble recovery to make it 20-6. Caden Ingram recovered onside kick
Caden Ingram recovered onside kick and Funk hit Van Fossen on a 48-yard scoring pass; Funk’s conversion pass to Parker Mitchell, made it 28-6.
Garber scored twice, cutting the lead to 28-22, but Funk came back to score on a 38-yard run and hit Van Fossen on another conversion to make it 36--22
