Seminole State releases honor roll

Seminole State College released its fall 2025 honor roll lists on Dec. 18, with students from Lincoln and Pottawatomie counties making the lists.To make the President’s Honor Roll, students must maintain a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) while taking at least 12 credit hours of coursework.

Santa and reindeer in Stroud

Santa and his reindeer will be making a stop in Stroud next week. The Stroud Chamber of Commerce is hosting an event on Dec. 17 at the Stroud Route 66 Pavilion on Main Street.Santa will be there with some of his reindeer for photos. There will also be food trucks, venders, hayrides and more.

Bethany Descher and Nicholas Linn have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for December by the Chandler Rotary Club.Bethany Descher is the daughter of Kryste Nguyen, Nick Dargel, Tony Nguyen, and Matthew Descher. She has a GPA of 3.75 and an ACT score of 25.

Mattie White has been named the 2025 Chandler Christmas Festival Queen.The senior was among 13 candidates who applied for the honor and was selected by a committee of judges. White will receive a $1,000 scholarship for the honor.
Volunteers and workers at May Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram handed out coats to children at its coat drive on Oct. 25. The dealership had 400 winter coats available in every size and color. They also had games, face painting, a petting zoo and a food truck. The event ran from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. or they ran out of coats.
