Lincoln County voters in Tuesday’s General Election decided in favor of creating an Emergency Medical Service District to help provide more widespread ambulance service throughout the county.Unofficial vote totals show 9,107 or 59.

Guilty verdict in murder trial

A Lincoln County jury has convicted a man from Sioux City, Iowa of first degree murder and three other felony counts in the death of a Carney area man.The jury deliberated just a little over an hour before returning verdicts against Clyde Dean Clayton, 42.

Pig Roast Nov. 2

The Lincoln County 4-H is hosting a pig roast, auction and its fourth annual pie contest on Nov. 2 at the Agri-Civic Center.The meal starts at 6:30 p.m. with the auction kicking off at 7 p.m. All of the proceeds will benefit Lincoln County 4-H members and activities throughout the year.

Bench warrant for Sparks man returned

A bench warrant issued for a Sparks man who failed to appear in court on a felony and a misdemeanor following his arrest has been returned and filed.Billy Ray Moore., 44, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court with possessing firearms after conviction or during probation, a felony.
