Waukomis upends Davenport

The Davenport Bulldogs fell to Waukomis 58-22 in their final home game of the season, even though Coach John Greenfield said his team played really hard.The loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-2 in the district and 2-6 overall with a road contest coming up Friday night at undefeated Covington.

Lincoln County commissioners this week accepted a quote and awarded it for the commissioners’ conference room remodel.Only two quotes were submitted. Scruggs Construction submitted a bid of $12,474 and Buoy Brothers Construction submitted a quote of $19,860.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Stroud man who is facing eight felonies following his arrest by officers.Formal charges were filed Sep. 24, 2024 in Lincoln County District Court against Acey Ambrose Murphy, 33.

The Lincoln County E911 Center was named the Emergency Communications Center of the Year at the 2024 Oklahoma Public Safety Conference.

Volunteers from the First Christian Church in Chandler stock the shelves at God and Peoples Pantry on Saturday morning before opening the doors. The Pantry served about 55 families that day. This year’s annual Downtown Trick or Treat in Chandler is set to take place from 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 along Manvel. Most of the businesses located there plan to hand out treats to kiddos during the event. It is open to all families to attend.

The thriller movie “Reverence,” which was filmed in Chandler last year, is finally finished. The cast and crew are holding a private premiere this weekend to finally watch the final product.Producer Jacob Snovel with SafeHouse Films said everyone was excited to see it and to take it to festivals.
