Chandler got a no-hitter from junior Kennedy Allen in the first round and made it to the semifinals of the state tournament before falling to eventual state champion Lone Grove last week.It capped a remarkable season for the Lady Lions, who finished 35-6.

Lions rout Westville, 42-16

Chandler took Westville to the woodshed Thursday night, beating the Yellowjackets 42-16 in a game that was not as close as the final score.The Lions led 42-0 at the half and the clock ran continuously in the second half except for one injury timeout.

After his Chandler Lady Lions won the 66 Conference fastpitch tournament at the end of August, head coach Bryan Herring was asked how good his team could be.“As good as they want to be,” he said.

Everything went just about as well it could for the Chandler Lions Friday night against Tulsa Webster.They scored on a kickoff return, a safety, a strip-andscore and had three one-play scoring drives. And they led 41-0 after a quarter and 69-0 at the half.

Davenport dropped its district opener to Cherokee 46-0 in a home contest last week and like a lot of schools faces a quick turn around this week.The Bulldogs will travel to Olive tonight (Thursday) for a road contest.Coach John Greenfield said kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
