Residents of Stroud were treated to a new look on their water tower last week. The 117-foot-tall tower was spruced up and given a fresh paint job.According to City Manager Bob Pearman, the project took about six weeks and wrapped up the first week of December.

Lincoln County Commissioners

Lincoln County commissioners this week approved a contract with Ascend Commercial Builders, LLC for the jail renovation. They also awarded a bid for equipment and outfitting of five 2024 Dodge Ram vehicles for the Sheriff’s Department.

Blind plea entered

A woman charged with two felonies, one of them alleging computer fraud, and who waived a jury trial, has entered a blind guilty plea to both counts.

Meeker board approves boundary map

Meeker’s Town Board of Trustees this week adopted a resolution calling for the 2025 notice of election and also approved the map of municipal boundaries for the town.Trustees were presented and voted to accept the 2023-2024 audit report and added a HUD Code of Conduct to the Town Trustee handbook.

The dance teams from Stroud and Chandler Highs both competed at the OSDTDA State Championship this weekend in Tulsa, and both walked away state champs.Stroud High School Pom brought home state championships in 1A/2A hip-hop and jazz, while placing second in pom, according to Coach Megan Jones.
