Chandler grad wins Miss NSU

While many young girls have dreamed of wearing the Miss America crown, not many actually start down the path toward winning it.Chandler High School Class of 2023 grad Laryssa Nunn is now one step closer.The second-semester sophomore at Northeastern University recently won the Miss NSU title on Nov.

Davis 14, Stroud 6

Stroud’s magical season ended prematurely Friday when the Davis Wolves up-ended the previously unbeaten Tigers, 14-6, in the state semifinals at Noble.Davis advanced to the Class 2A-II state championship game at UCO on Saturday.

Not guilty pleas in trafficking

A Prague man is facing 12 counts of child sexual abuse following his arrest by area law enforcement authorities.Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District against Riley Draper, 35. He made an initial appearance before Special Judge Emily Mueller who set his bond at $100,000.

Wrestling isn’t new in Oklahoma. It’s been around for ages, producing top wrestlers like Olympian Kendall Cross from Mustang and local Lincoln County legend Jerry Best, who is the only undefeated four-time state champion from Chandler High School.
