Fatal crash near Meeker

A two-vehicle traffic collision east of Meeker in Lincoln County has injured a Chandler man and resulted in the death of a Beggs resident, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.State Trooper Eric Smith identified the Beggs resident as Robert Sumner, 31.

Stroud school board approves students’ free meals

Starting with the upcoming school year, all students from pre-K to high school in Stroud Public Schools will be able to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost.Superintendent Joe Van Tuyl recommended to the school board that they approve providing meals at their meeting on July 11, which they did.

A second degree burglary charge against a Stroud man who admitted he and another individual were inside a building when it up in flames last October has been dismissed.However, in another case, he still faces a felony charge of driving while under the influence of drugs.
