Ellen Elizabeth Vails Jantz was born on July 6, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to John Henry Vails and Fern Teresa Bodine Vails. She passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Meadowlark Hills in Manhattan, Kansas, at the age of 83.Ellen married Gary Dean Jantz on November 17, 1962.

Lincoln County commissioners this week approved disbursement of preserving and advancing county transportation (PACT) funds.Their action came during a special meeting.They also approved a federal grants procurement policy.

A group of about 20 to 30 bikes lines up for a charity right on Aug. 18 at Tilghman Park in Chandler. The ride had bikers from the Roughnecks, Four Kings LE/MC, Honor-Bound Motorcycle Ministry, and other groups and clubs. KennedyAllen gave up just three hits and two runs in three games and led the Chandler Lady Lions to their third straight 66 Conference tournament championship last week.Chandler had a bye the first round and beat Meeker, 17-0, in the semifinals on Friday.

Summer honor rolls at Northwestern Oklahoma State University have been announced by the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.Those on the President’s Honor Roll earned all A’s, or a 4.0 grade point average (GPA), in a minimum of 12 undergraduate or nine graduate hours.
