Services will be held for Sylva Alice (Hixon) Summers of Stroud at 10 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2022, with Pastors Will Fine and Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery under the care of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud. Visitation is 3-8 p.m., Sunday March 13, 2022, at the funeral home.
Summers was born August 26, 1938, near Iron Post, Okla., and died Sat urday, March 5, 2022, in Tulsa, Okla. She was 83 years old.
The daughter of Evert Arnold and Lizzie Arlie (Anderson) Hixon, she married Delmer Summers on December 28, 1958.
She retired from Stroud Public Schools and was a member of Stroud Christian Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Charles Hixon; three sisters, Ruthie Bickell, Rubie Dixon and Goldie Prewitt; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Lonnie Summers, Gary Summers and David Summers; one daughter, Kalah Summers; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and other family and friends.
