Football districts announced

The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association has released the district assignments for the 2026 and 2027 football seasons.

Most of the seven football-playing schools in the area will see substantial changes in their districts.

Chandler, which has been in a district with schools to the east and north, will compete in District 2A-I-2 against schools to the west and southwest. The Lions’ foes will include Anadarko, Casady, Crossings Christian, Dickson, Lindsay, Little Axe and 2025 state runnerup Washington. In addition to Washington, Lindsay and Little Axe made the playoffs last season.

Three Class 2A-II teams live in Lincoln County, but, remarkably, all three are in different districts. Stroud, Meeker and Prague are all closer to each other than to any of their future district opponents.

Stroud, which made it to the state semifinals last season, will be in District 2A-II-4 along with Atoka, Beggs, Hartshorne, Holdenville, Kellyville, Morris and Wilburton.

Prague will be in District 2A-II-2 with Antlers, defending state champ Davis, Dibble, Lexington, Marietta, Tishomingo and Valliant.

Meeker is in 2A-I-1 with Alva, Cashion, Christian Heritage, Community Christian, Hennessey, Millwood and Newkirk.

In Class 3A, North Rock Creek and McLoud are in District 3A-1 along with Kingfisher, Marlow, Mount St. Mary, Oklahoma Christian School, Plainview and Purcell.

Davenport will get some mileage the next two seasons. The Bulldogs are in District B-II-4 along with Arkoma, Gans, Keota, Webbers Falls and Wetumka.
