Ramona Donnell Jones

Ramona Donnell Jones, resident of Meeker, Okla., passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. She was 86 years old.

Donnell was born February 26, 1935 in Chandler, Okla., to her parents Wetzel Milton Hurst and Ramona Vivian Hurst. Donnell grew up in Chandler graduating from Chandler High School and attended Oklahoma State University. She worked as a PBX Operator at Kerr-McGee Oil. Donnell married Ronald Clifton Jones on February 24, 1956 in Chandler. The couple moved to Meeker and lived in and worked at the Curry Funeral Home. Donnell and Ronald opened their own grocery store business, B & R Food Town, in Meeker, which was open for over 40 years. They also started their own insurance company and Donnell became a licensed insurance agent. She had a passion for gardening and a knack for making beautiful floral arrangements and owned and operated Meeker Florist. They were quite the entrepreneurs! For a short while, Donnell was an editor for the Meeker Newspaper. While tending to her many business ventures, Donnell was also a devoted wife and mother.
