Deputy fired

A Lincoln County deputy has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges and has been dismissed from his job by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Formal charges were filed on May 30 this year in Lincoln County District Court against Christopher Hyde. They included obstructing an officer and trespassing after being forbidden.

The Sheriff’s Office said Hyde was dismissed from his job on Tuesday evening, June 4. He had been employed there for approximately four years.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reportedly was in charge of the investigation.

Appearing recently before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk, Hyde, as the result of a plea bargain, pleaded no contest to both charges. The judge received the pleas and found him guilty Count 1, obstructing an officer and assessed him a $250 fine and court costs.

On Count 2, trespassing after being forbidden, Judge Kirk fined him $250 and court costs. Hyde was ordered to report to the Court Clerk’s Office.

First Assistant District Attorney Adam Kallsnick prosecuted the case and Hyde’s defense attorney was Stephanie Morris.
