Kathryn (Clover) Greene

Kathryn (Clover) Greene was born March 25, 1930 and passed away December 18, 2020 at the age of 90. She was born in Oklahoma City to Henry Earl and Mary Clover. She was raised in Chandler, Okla., and was the oldest of 7 children. She was the drum major at Chandler High School and graduated in 1947. Kathryn attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha for 2 years and began working for Oklahoma Gas and Electric where she met Stanley Greene. They married on June 21, 1958. Kathryn was a devoted mother to Mary and Donna. She returned to Central State College in Edmond to finish her education. She obtained her Bachelor of Education degree in 1971 and began substitute teaching at Putnam City Schools.

Kathryn was a lifelong Methodist and a current member of Church of the Servant United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. She was a proud Republican, but even more proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to read and enjoyed her numerous cats over the years. She will be remembered for her canned jellies and pickles.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley Greene; brothers, Glen (Edward) Clover and Vernon Clover; and brother-in-law, Don Barcus. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Treptor and Donna (Johnny) Powell; siblings, Kenneth (Betty) Clover, Susan (Ken) Goldstein, Janie Barcus, Linda (Bill) Neal; sisters-in-law, Sue Clover and Donna Clover; grandchildren, Michael Treptor, Montana Treptor, Lauren Powell (Willie Lester) and Jillian Powell; great-grandson, Jax Lester; and extended family members, Julie Quinlan, Sarah and Ellie Powell, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
