The Alpha Iota Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met Thursday, Sep. 18 at the Chandler High School.
Rachel Karger, chapter president, called the meeting to order after members had served themselves from the snack buffet.
The answer to roll call was stories of what members had done during the summer.
Members recited the Mission Statement and the Recommitment to DKG.
Jana Telford led the singing of the Delta Kappa Gamma song. Marilyn Young read the inspirational article titled, “Taking a Second… for Gratitude and Appreciation” by Debra LeBlanc from the Delta Kappa Gamma Bulletin – Collegial Exchange. Cynthia Snider, secretary, read the minutes of the May meeting.
The minutes were approved as read. Marilyn Young presented the treasurer’s report. Rachel gave a recap of the Oklahoma State Organization Convention and presented the awards and recognition Alpha Iota received at the convention.
Marilyn Young reported on the DKG International Conference she attended in New Orleans during July. The Special Projects gift was won by Adrianne DeKlotz.
Hostesses for the evening were Adrianne and Jennifer Green. Thirteen members were in attendance. School supplies were collected for two new teachers in the Chandler school system.
The next Alpha Iota meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Chandler High School.
