Friday was a beautiful day for late January and disk golfers took full advantage of it. The fivesome of Robert Spurlock, Harley Pettitt, Justin Hoover, Blake Ivie and Logan Pettitt made up one of many groups playing at McLoud’s course along the walking trail in the Lawrence Wahpepah Park. Wellston STEM honorees

Wellston Middle and High School students were recently awarded their Gordon Cooper STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) award for the Fall 2020 semester. Students were nominated by their instructors for excellence in STEM coursework. Wellston Teacher of the Year

Wellston Superintendent of schools Dwayne Danker presents Wellston reading specialist Dana Boyer with a plaque commemorating her Teacher of the Year award for the Wellston school district for the 2019-20 school year. Mrs. Boyer has spent the last forty-three years in education and has taught at Wellston for six years.

Stroud donations to foster families

Members of the National Honor Society from Stroud delivered hygiene and personal products to the Department of Human Services on Friday for distribution to children in foster care. Despite COVID-19, the Pottawatomie County Junior Livestock Trophy Auction and Pig Roast will go on again this year. It will be the same time it always is held, the first Monday of February, but it’s location has changed.

Redistricting meeting
