It was late in the second quarter when Chandler junior Casmen Hill took off to the left and out-ran the Stroud defense 69 yards for a touchdown. That run and the Konnor Almand point-after that followed put the Lions ahead, 21-0, and it was then - at the 3:08 mark - that Chandler head coach Jack Gray said he began feeling it.

Bethel spoils Meeker homecoming, 28-8

Meeker’s offense ground to a near halt Friday night, with the result being a 22-8 Bethel win in the Wildcats’ first game in Class 2A. The Bulldogs got a safety for a 2-0 lead in the lead in the first quarter but didn’t back on the scoreboard until Caden Wolford ran for a touchdown with two minutes left in the game.

Davenport romps past Weleetka

Davenport rolled past Weleetka in its opener Friday night, whipping the Outlaws 46-0 and getting revenge for a 32-28 loss in last year’s opener. Caron Funk completed seven passes for 176 yards and Casey Harelson touchdowns of 7, 51 and 26 yards and had two twopoint conversions for the Bulldogs, who led 32-0 after the first period.
