On Friday, May 14 , free food will be distributed through the USDA’s Farmers to Families Food Box Program. The boxes contain a meat product, dairy, fruit and vegetables so plan for refrigeration.
The program benefits farmers and prevents the waste of agriculture products. This is not a needs-based program, so the food can go to anyone without restriction.
Drive through the Wellston Baseball Field area at 900 Hickory to get a box for your family or others in need. Volunteers will place a box in your vehicle. Food distribution will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until supplies are gone.
