First-graders provide recipes for cooking your Thanksgiving bird
In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, all county first graders were invited to submit recipes to the paper on “How to Cook a Turkey.”
The following are the children’s versions of how they would cook a turkey.
Agra
Miss Neal’s class
Kamdyn Turner - I will kill the turkey and put it in the oven. Then when it’s done, you can eat it.
Alyssa Greenfield - I will go hunting with my dad to catch a turkey. Then I will put it in the oven to cook it.
Harper Kinzie - You cut the turkey and put salt and pepper on it. Next, you put it in the oven and then let it cool off.
Nicholas Wolff - First, season the turkey and bake it for 20 minutes. Then take it out, butter it, and put it back in the oven for 1 hour. Lastly, take it out and eat it.
Kanton Herrmann - Catch a turkey, then gut it and clean it. Next, you butter it and salt it. Lastly, put it in a pan and cook it for 54 minutes.
Xander Crane - I would hunt and kill a turkey. Then I would put it in the oven for 4 to 5 minutes and then eat it.
Alexandrea Huckabay - I would buy a turkey from Walmart then I would cook the turkey in the oven for my mom and uncle to eat.
Zane Dutton - First, get a turkey from the store. Next, you cook it in the oven for 5 minutes then you take it out and cut it up.
Oakley Brinker - I get a turkey from the store. Next, I stuff it with seasoning. Then I cook it for 6 minutes, cut it up, and feast on the turkey.
Rance Simms - I would trap the turkey and then I would cook it in the oven for 45 seconds. Next, I would set it on the outside table to eat.
Owen Seitsinger - I will go hunting for a turkey. Then I will cook it over the fire for 20 minutes and take it to my granny’s to eat it.
Aaron Rose - I will get a turkey from the store. Then I will cook it in the microwave for 30 minutes and eat it.
Jase Boyles - I would go to the store to get a turkey. I would put it in the stove for 30 minutes, then take it out and eat it.
Kysen Ferrell - I would get a turkey from Walmart then drive home, put butter on it, and cook it in the oven for 3 hours. After it is cooked, I would then cut it up and eat it.
Brinlee Findley - First, I would put tiny itty bitty peppers on the turkey. I would then put some pepper and some salt on it then I would cook it in the oven for 10 minutes. Next, I would put it on a tray and give it to the people.
Zoey Fleury - My dad would go hunting and catch a turkey at our farm. He has a machine that would pluck the feathers. Then my dad would season it but I don’t know what he puts on it. Next, we would put it in the oven for 100 seconds. Then we would let it cool off and we would eat it.
Sophiea Harris - I would go to the store, pick out a turkey, then cook it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Then I would then take it out and eat it.
Tessa Hixson - First I would probably go to a farm and get a turkey. Then I would probably take it home and then if Grandma Beth was there, I would bake it with her or if she wasn’t there, I would bake it with my mom. We would bake it for 1 minute in the oven. Then we would probably set it on the table and wait for everyone to get there.
Autumn Mutters - I would go to Walmart and buy a turkey. Then I would put lemon pepper and butter on it and rub it in. Then I would put the turkey in the oven for 5 minutes, take it out, and eat it.
Conner Potter - I would get my turkey in the woods and skin it. Then I would put it on a tray and put salt, pepper, and Johnny Salt on it and rub it in. I would then put in the oven for 25 minutes.
Calliope Ross - I would get my turkey from Walmart. My parents would help me season it with chicken flavoring and pineapple. Then I would put it in the oven for 10 hours.
Levi Wright - I would hunt for a turkey, find one and shoot it, then take the feathers off. Then I would put BBQ, ketchup, and pickles on it and put it in the oven at 150 degrees for 2 hours.

Layton - Buy a turkey. Put in a freezer. Take it out. Then you cook it. Put it on a plate.
Jaycie - Buy a turkey at Walmart. Cook it in the oven for 30 minutes. You cut it up and eat it.
Maria - Go to the store. Buy a turkey. Take it homd. Put it in the oven. Cook it for 40 minutes. Cut it up and eat it.
James - Cook for ten minits. Then you pull it out. Put it on the table.
Lynnlee - Put it in a freezer. Take it out. Put sauce on it. Then you cook it. Put it on a plate.
Kriana - You kill a turkey. Then we wash it. In then you cook it for 10 min. Then we kut it in to pesis. The we all et it.
Bobby - Buy a turkey. Cut the head off. Put in the oven for 30 minutes. Cut it up and eat it.
Kady - You wash a turkey. Than you slis it. Than you cook it 30 minits.
Samantha - Cleen the turkey. Then you cook it and then you cut it and then you eat it.
Taryn - Go to the store and buy a turkey. Bring it home. Thaw it out then put it in the oven for 30 minutes. Cut it up and eat it.
Salem - Buy a turkey. Put in a freezer. Kook 30 minits.
Jensen - Buy a turkey. Put in a freezer. Take it out. Put sauce on it. Then you cook it. Put it on a plate. Et it.
Kyndall - You skin it. Cut it up. Wash it. Put it in the ovin for three minutes. Then eat it up.
Kyson - First you have to capture it. Then you have to pluck it. Then you have to give it a bath. Then you cook it.
Lyric - You go to Grandma’s and get it out of the refrigerater. You skin it. Fry it. Cut it up. Then eat it.
Kylee - You put the turkey in the hot water. I tak the turkey out the stove. I put the turkey on the table.

Briar - First kill a turkey with a crossbow. Next drain the guts out. Then cook on the grill for 10 minutes. Lastly serve with bread and chocolate pie.
Taytum - First kill a turkey with a crossbow. Next drain the blood and take the guts out. Then smoke it for 6 hours. Lastly put bar-b-que rub on it and eat.
Raven - First go to Walmart and buy a turkey. Next pluck the feathers off. Then cook in the crock pot for 25 minutes on medium temperature. Lastly serve with vegetables and bread.

Duncan Borsh - First you can buy a turkey. Next go clean the turkey. Then salt and pepper the turkey. Finally eat.
Kurt Broughton - First I would go buy it from Walmart. Next I will pull the guts and insides out. Then put the turkey in a pan. Put ketchup and everything on it. Bake it for 25 hours. Finally I will pour drinks and set the table. Then we eat!!!!
Brecklynn Buchanan - First I go to hunt a turkey. Next clean your turkey up rille good. Then I put my turkey in the oven for 12 minits. Finally open the oven up and eat the turkey.
Ella Carter - First I go hunting for the turkey and shoot it. Next take off the feathers and cut the head off and clen it. Then put it in a pan and put salt and papper and put it in the oven for a hour. Finally open the oven put the turkey on the table. Set the table and put the drinks on the table.
Brently Castle - First I go to Walmart and buy turkey. Next take off the bag. Then put sallt and pepr on the turkey. Finally eat the turkey.
Adaline Cory - First I will go shoot a turkey. Next take off the feathers. Then cut the head off. Clean your turkey. Then you put seasoning on the turkey for one hours. Put the turkey in the oven. Finally take the turkey out. Then you eat the turkey.

Kingston - First clean out the inside. Next I will put seasoning and hot sauce on it. Then put it on the grill. Last put butter inside and microwave it for 10 hours.
Gabriel - First go to the store and buy a turkey. Next put blueberry jelly on it. Then put the turkey on the grill. Last cook it for 3 hours.
Isaiah - First clean the turkey. Next season the turkey. Then fry it for 9 min. Last eat it.
Noah - First clean the turkey then open up the bottom then put salt in the middle. Next preheat smoker 50˚. Stuff. Then put the turkey in the smoker for 12 min. Last eat.
Sadie Harris - First put salt and pepper and butter. Cut the butter. Next preheat the oven and go hunting. Then roast in the oven and cook it for 30˚. Put butter on the turkey. Last put it on a plate. Then get a diet Sprite.
Ady Jo - First pike fethrs off turkey. Next clean out turkey rip heart out of turkey. Then preheat turkey for 10 or 20 min. Last make sure that it’s golden. Season and guacamole. Have a fun dinner.
Brantlee - First you go hunting. Next you clean it & drink. Then cook it at 10˚. Last eat turkey.
Aiden Taylor - First hunt the turkey. Next preheat the oven to 800˚ then my Dad will cook the turkey in the oven. Last take it out of the oven.
Ryatt - First unwrap and clean the turkey. Next set the oven to 100˚. Then take the turkey when the turkey is ready take the turkey out of the oven. Then stuff the turkey. You can eat the turkey.
Sophie Riggin - First hunt for the turkey. My dad unwraps the turkey. Add salt and pepper. Cleen the turkey. Next preheat the smoker to 300˚. Season the turkey. Stuffing then my dad will cook the turkey in the smoker. Last take the turkey out of the pan. Drink diet coke and more eating.
Cooper - Unwrap the turkey. Clean it. Season. Start the oven at 200˚. Smoke in the smoker. The golden turkey eat.
Ansley - First clean it off. Next I season it. I put it in the oven. Take it out. Bake potatoes and get the drinks. I eat.
Letty - First unwrap and clean the turkey. Next turn oven on to 3˚. Season with salt and pepper. Stuff. Then roast, fry, smoke.
Alexander Rogers - First unwrap the turkey. Next I clean the turkey and I put the turkey in the oven for 100˚. Then I take it out. Last I take it in my hand. I make sure the turkey is good. I like the turkey and I eat the turkey.
Chris - First clean the turkey. Next cut the head off and put seasoning and drink Sprite. Cook in the oven. Take it out. Eat. The End.

Colton - I go to the store with my mom. Put it in the bathtub. Then go to the stove to make sure your turkey is done. Last, eat and dessert.

Braxton - First I clean the turkey. Next 70˚. Then I eat with my mom and my dad. I go to bed.
