A $100,000 bond has been set for an Agra man after he was arrested on three felonies alleging sex crimes with minors.
Kenneth Taylor Simpson, 21, was formally charged on Oct. 24 in Lincoln County District Court with lewd acts to a child under 16, sodomy of a child under 16 and second degree rape.
Simpson appeared before Special Judge Emily Mueller on Oct. 24 and she originally ordered him held without bond. On Oct. 25, Simpson appeared again before Judge Mueller.
The judge set his bond at $100,000 and ordered Simpson to have no contact with the victims and no unsupervised contact with any minor as conditions of the bond. She scheduled his prepreliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 17.
The first felony count accuses him of the alleged criminal activity about Aug. 1 at a residence on East 770 Road in Lincoln County.
The second count allegedly occurred about the same day at the same residence with the same minor involved in the first felony.
The second degree rape charge allegedly took place at that residence with a different minor during the period of June through September of 2022.
In a probable cause affidavit, Lincoln County Investigator Christoper Hyde states he was notified by Investigator Kelly Coleman that he had been contacted by Agra Police Chief Richard Roe who had provided him with information regarding alleged lewd acts occurring with juveniles in the Agra area.
Hyde was advised that Chief Roe had been told an adult male had been soliciting nude photographs from juvenile females.
Roe, according to the affidavit, provided Hyde with a list of potential victims regarding the alleged acts and on Oct. 19 went to Agra High School to speak with the juveniles to confirm which ones had been solicited photographs.
Hyde stated in the affidavit that he made contact with high school Dean of Students Albert May who assisted with gathering those juveniles.
Simpson was first arrested on an active felony warrant through the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office the evening of Oct. 19 by Hyde and other Lincoln County deputies. That warrant was for acts involving a minor child, the affidavit states.
Hyde and Sheriff Charlie Dougherty conducted an interview with Simpson regarding the allegations.
Investigator Larry Stover also assisted in the investigation, according to the affidavit.
