Chandler hires Bennett as SRO

Chandler Board of Education members this week voted to terminate the Memorandum of Understanding with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.

Following an executive session, board members returned to open meeting and voted to employ Aaron Bennett the school resource officer for the Chandler School District.

Board members, also in executive session, evaluated School Supt. Scott Baade.

Bennett has been the resource officer for a number of years through the Sheriff’s Office and now will work for the district.

Board members also approved the lease agreement for the 83.51 acres to the highest bidder, Garrett Jackson, for $1,600. He was the lone bidder, Baade said.

The board members approved the 2023/2024 audit report conducted and presented by Ralph Osborn’s CPA firm.

They approved the an Armed School Employees policy.

They also acknowledged the re-election of board Joseph Irby.
