Midwest Wrecking continues to work on gradually taking down the St. Cloud buildings at 1214 and 1216 Manvel.
The City of Chandler has said that the process could take a number of weeks as the demolition is complicated.
The St. Cloud Hotel first opened in 1904, according to the nomination form for the National Registor of Historic Places Inventory, submitted in 1985. Other annexes and buildings were added in later years.
The buildings were first condemned after wind damage in March 2025. After two public hearings, the Chandler City Council votedtodemolishthemafter theyweredeemedunsafefor the public.
A temporary injuction was filed by owner John Givens, but eventually was not issued by Judge Joseph Dobry, who determined in December that the City was within its right to demo the buildings.
