A defendant already charged in Lincoln County with two felonies and a misdemeanor has been indicted by a federal grand jury.
Jameel Rasheed Wilkins, 37, was indicted last week on firearms and ammunition charges. Currently he sits in the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler.
Wilkins was charged in Lincoln County District Court on Dec. 28, 2023 with second degree burglary, a felony, possession of a firearm after former felony conviction, a felony, and knowingly receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor.
His preliminary hearing on those charges is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 19.
The federal indictment against Wilkins was filed March 19.
Count 1 charges him with being a felon in possession of ammunition. It states that Wilkins knew he had previously been convicted of a crime punishable for a term of more than one year and that on Dec. 23, 2023, he specifically possessed one round of Winchester 9mm caliber ammunition which was in and affecting interstate or foreign commerce in that the ammunition had crossed state lines to reach Oklahoma.
Wilkins is accused in Count 2 of the indictment of possessing an unregistered firearm on Dec. 23, 2023. It states he possessed an unknown manufacturer zip/pen gun type of device, bearing no serial number which was not registered to him in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.
The indictment further states that upon conviction of Count 1 and Count 2 Wilkins shall forfeit to the U.S. any and all firearms and ammunition involved in the commission of the offenses.
The property subject to forfeiture includes but is not limited to one round of Winchester 9mm caliber ammunition; an unknown manufacturer, zip/pen gun type device bearing no serial number and all ammunition and magazines not specifically listed.
