Pre-preliminary hearings have been set for two McLoud men facing three felony charges each in connection with trafficking illegal drugs, cultivation of a controlled substance and possession of firearms during commission of a felony.
Destin Minghaun Chung, 18, and his father, William Chung, 44, each were formally charged April 18 in Lincoln County District Court with those three counts.
Special Judge Emily Mueller on April 13 set William Chung’s bond at $100,000.
He made his initial appearance on April 20 and the judge has set his prepreliminary hearing for Sep. 21.
The judge set Destin Chung’s bond at $50,000, he also made his initial appearance April 20 and his preliminary hearing is also scheduled for Sep. 21.
Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Agent Andrew Terry states in an affidavit that on April 3 this year Shawnee Police Cpl. John Brirstow, a certified K9 handler for the department, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for having the license plate covered and not visible. The occupants were identified as William Chung, driver, and Destin Chung, passenger.
