Lily Milam, Finley West and Jaycee Cross have been selected as the Lions of the Month for December by the Chandler Lions Club.
Lily Milam is the daughter of Rusty and Ginger Milam. She has a 4.0 GPA and is ranked first in her class. She has taken advanced English for three years, and three university courses (History, Comp I and II). Milam has won several academic awards, including Outstanding GPA and Academic Excellence Awards. She is also a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society.
As a member of the Chandler High School Marching and Concert bands where she plays the tuba -- Milam has received the Outstanding Performance at Heartland Music Festival Award and made the Cimarron Valley Honor Band for four years, ECOBDA Honor Band for three years, and OSSBDA All-State for two years.
She has received an Excellence Award at Districts for three years and helped the band win the sweepstakes award for three years. She has received an Excellence Award at Districts and State for her ensemble/solo for three years. Milam has also been a section leader in both marching and concert band.
As a member of the choir, Milam has made the ECOCDA Honor Choir and received an Excellent rating at District for two years, as well as helping the choir win sweepstakes two years. She’s received a Solo & Ensemble Award of Excellence at the district level for two years and at the state level for one year.
Milam is a member of the Church of Christ and has volunteered as a server at the Alumni Banquet. She has also been named Rotarian of the Month.
After graduation, Milam plans to attend Oklahoma State University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. After that, she plans to attend Northeastern State University and pursue a degree in Optometry.
Finley West is the son of Curtis and Lauren West. He has a GPA of 3.98 and is currently ranked 11th in his class. He has taken four years of advanced English.
West was the class vice president his sophomore year. As a member of the golf team, he placed tenth at the Tom Parker Memorial Golf Tournament in 2025. He’s also been SYNCO Student of the Week in 2024.
His other activities include Academic Team, Gifted and Talented, Student Council and BancFirst Student Board of Directors.
West has volunteered to serve veterans at the annual Veterans Day luncheon in 2022, clean up the garden at the Museum of Pioneer History, and make cards for nursing home residents and veterans. He currently works at Taco Bell.
After graduation, West plans to attend Oklahoma State University to pursue a degree in civil engineering. He then plans to start a career in engineering.
Jaycee Cross is the daughter of Brandon and Amanda Cross. She has a GPA of 4.0 and is ranked first in her class. She has taken advanced English for four years.
Cross has received the American History Award of Excellence, Geometry Award of Excellence and an Academic Excellence Award. She is a member of the Oklahoma High School Honor Society and was a Basketball Academic State Champion. She is also a BPA national qualifier and the 2024 Snow Queen. As a member of the Chandler High School Pom Team, she helped the team win the state championship in hip-hop and jazz in 2022. She is the current captain of the cheer team.
Cross’s other activities are PSI, Posi-tive Peers, Gifted and Talented, prom committee, Business Professionals of America (BPA), BancFirst Student Board and baseball manager.
She has made presentations for PSI for three years and taken part in Wise Guys Girl Power for three years. Cross has also volunteered at the Chandler Library’s Summer Reading Program, made Valentine’s Day and Christmas cards for the local nursing home, served at Soup-Da-Doup and volunteered as a cheer coach for the Chandler Youth Football Association.
She works as a lifeguard at the Chandler Public Pool and as a coach at Superstarz Tumbling and Competitive Cheer.
After graduation, Cross plans to attend college somewhere close to home and major in exercise science while cheering. She hopes to become a sports physical therapist.
