Meeker hires teachers, aides

The Meeker Board of Education this week approved the hiring of several teachers and teachers’ Aides for the 2022-2023 school year and also accepted the resignations of three other teachers.

Without going into executive session, the board members voted to hire Diane Cudd, high school teacher, Susan Miller, middle school teacher and Matt Jones, Middle School teacher and coach. Jones will be the new head coach of the girls high school basketball team.

Meeker School Supt. Jeff Pruitt said Jones is coming from the Luther school district.

Also hired were Jennifer Brooks, a high school Aide and Kim Frisbee, Karen Peterson and Kellos Walker who all will be elementary Aides.

The resignations accepted include Amy Wiley and Angela Tyler, elementary teachers and Brady Dukes, high school teacher who was the coach of the high school girls basketball team.

The board also approved a bid of $27,298 from WTI for a roof on the Ag building.

Board members approved, with some changes made, the high school, middle school and elementary school handbooks for the 2022-2023 school year.

In other business, the board members:

Approved the annual continuing resolutions for 2022-2023.

Approved the Meeker school salary schedule for 2022-2023.

Agreed to a contract with Rider Classroom Spanish for 2022-2023.

Approved a waiver/deregulation for the Middle School and High School library.

Agreed to a contract with Select Physical for 2022-2023.

Approved an option to convert from a day calendar to hours to the 2022- 2023 school year. Approved an agreement

Approved an agreement between Meeker Public Schools and Gordon Cooper Technology Center allowing Meeker High School students attending Gordon Cooper to receive academic course credit for classes approved by the Oklahoma State Board of Education and allow sophomore level students to enroll in appropriate CTE courses.

Also, approved an agreement with the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) to participate in the CCOSA District Level Services Program for 2022-2023.
