Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Dena Jo Bromley announced today that the Paden School District has opted to close Precinct 22 in Okfuskee County for the Board of Education Primary Election scheduled for February 10th.
State law allows a school district to close a precinct for an election if the entire precinct is not contained within the district’s boundaries and if no one resides in the part of the precinct that is inside the district. Paden School District officials have determined that no eligible voters reside in Precinct 22, confirming that Precinct 22 meets the conditions of the law. Closing the precinct would reduce the overall cost of the election for the district.
Any registered voter in Precinct 22 who believes that he or she may reside in the Paden School District is urged to contact the County Election Board office immediately.
