Six new felony charges against Wellston man

A $100,000 bench warrant has been issued for a Wellston man who previously was convicted of several felonies and is now facing six new felony charges.

The new felonies were filed in Lincoln County District on Nov. 4 against Chad Everett Roberts, 36. They include first degree burglary, first degree robbery, fourth degree arson, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of a firearm after former felony conviction.

The warrant for his arrest was issued the same day the charges were filed.

The burglary count accuses Roberts of in July breaking and entering a residence owned by Bridgett Mitchell in which she and Larry “Don” Beiter were present.

The robbery charge states Roberts took a Nissan pickup truck along with other miscellaneous items belonging to Mitchell and in the course of the robbery threatened to harm her.

He is accused in the arson charge of pouring gasoline attempting to set fire to a bed Mitchell and Beiter were laying in along with the entire house.

In the assault and battery with a dangerous weapon count he is charged with assaulting Mitchell with a pistol and a knife, two dangerous weapons, without justifiable or excusable cause intending to harm her.

Roberts is charged with taking the Nissan pickup belonging to Mitchell with the intent to deprive her of the vehicle.

The firearms count charges Roberts with possessing a pistol after he was convicted of a felony in Lincoln County District Court on May 16, 2017.

Supplemental information filed in the case shows Robert was convicted on Jan. 8, 2014, of second degree burglary, grand larceny and knowingly concealing stolen property.

On May 16, 2017 in Lincoln County District Court, he was convicted of knowingly concealing stolen property after former conviction of two or more felonies and escape from arrest or detention after conviction of two or more felonies.

And on Aug. 2, 2017, in Payne County District Court, he was convicted of two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
