Stroud man faces felony in pursuit

A driver from Stroud is facing a felony and two misdemeanors following a high speed pursuit in November where he eluded an officer.

Jeremy Lee Aylor, 35, was charged on March 8 of this year in Lincoln County District Court with endangering lives of others while eluding/attempting to elude police officer, a felony.

The misdemeanors filed against him include leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and malicious injury to property under $1,000.

Court records show a $20,000 bench warrant for Aylor’s arrest was issued on March 9. The warrant was returned and filed on March 17 and Aylor appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk on that date for a hearing on the initial bench warrant.

The judge ordered the $20,000 bond previously set to remain in place. She further ordered Aylor to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on April 1. Special Judge Emily Mueller continued the preliminary hearing until 1:30 p.m. on April 8.

The felony charge against Aylor accuses him of increasing his speed and forcing a UTV to run into the ditch to avoid arrest by Stroud Police Officer Wade Martin on Nov. 26, 2020 in Lincoln County.

He also is charged with leaving the scene of an accident after striking a Ford pickup truck owned by Mary Vicks on that same day.

The information filed against Aylor also states he caused malicious injury to property under $1,000 by driving through two barbed wire fences on that same day.
