Three principals resign

The Chandler School Board approved the resignation of three principals and a high school counselor at its regular meeting on March 9.

The Board accepted the resignations of Lisa Herring, principal at East Side Elementary; Todd Gragg, principal at Chandler Junior High; Freddie Hall, principal at Chandler High School; and Christon Cummings, counselor at the high school.

However, the Board renewed the contract of Park Road Elementary Principal Bridget Hughey.

Other items approved at the meeting were routine contract renewals, according to Superintendent Scott Baade. They approved the contract for an independent auditor to perform the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year audit and another with Fire Safety Inspections for the annual inspection of all fire systems and fire system monitoring.

The Board also approved the Agency of Record Change Request, moving the representation of Chandler Schools to Laird & Walkingstick Insurance Services, and a contract with ADPC for basic accounting software services for the 2026/2027 year.

Additionally, they approved a bid proposal from Central Oklahoma School Pictures (Tom Flora) for school pictures for the 2026/27 school year, and that all credits that Chandler students receive while attending Gordon Cooper Technology Center will count toward graduation at Chandler High School.

The Board did go into executive session to discuss Hughey’s re-employment and the employment of a superintendent. No action was taken on the superintendent position.
