Wellston woman killed in crash

A Wellston woman died recently in a two-vehicle collision in the city of Wellston, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

State Trooper Chad Pape, of the Traffic Homicide Unit of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, identified the woman who died as Amber Leafty, 46.

Pape reported she was pronounced deceased on the scene by Survival Flight. She was transported to the Medical Examiner by the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office, he said.

The trooper said Leafty was driving a 2019 Hyundai Tuscon.

The trooper identified the other driver involved as Ronald Henry, 40, of Luther who was driving a 2001 Ford F-350. He was transported by Wellston EMS to OU Medical Center admitted in good condition, Pape stated.

Pape said the fatal collision around 5:22 p.m. at the intersection of SH 66 and SH 102 in the city of Wellston.

According to the report, what happened is under investigation.

The trooper said the condition of both drivers at the time of the collision remains under investigation as well.

Pape said cause of the collision is also under investigation.
