Adventures to continue

“Adventures Begin at Your Library” is the theme for this year’s Summer Reading Program which will continue through the end of July. Pictures include a program with Buckaroo Bart, the Oklahoma Will Rogers Representative from the Will Rogers Museum in Claremore. He presented an engaging afternoon of roping and stories about Will Rogers. Last week’s program, “On the Road”, included a Touch-a-Truck event with vehicles from Chandler’s Fire, Ambulance, and Police Departments! You may already know this, but our Chandler Emergency Services are AMAZING. The kids even got to turn on the lights, sirens, and honk the horns, This week’s event will be at Tilghman Park, where our “Under the Stars” event on Thursday at 10 am. Game Warden, Jacob Harriett, will be there, and we’ll be having camping contests as well as doing so solar cooking: hot dogs and S’mores.

“The Cowboy Way” will be the final special event of the summer, with representatives from The Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum and a chuckwagon.

Don’t worry, we have regular programs for preschoolers on Tuesday at 10 am, and elementary age students on Wednesday at 3:30 pm throughout the year, with special programs spinkled in. Check at the library or call (405)258-3402 to get on our newsletter list.
