Chandler’s Board of Education members this week approved the 2023-2024 Estimate of Needs and financial statement and the “Application for Sanctioning” of several booster clubs.
School Supt. Scott Baade said Chandler High School has been ranked the 12th best in Oklahoma by U.S. World and News Report.
Baade explained, “They (U.S. News and World Report) obtain that information from the State Department of Education. I didn’t even know about it until I got to looking at the top 10 and found out.”
He noted the ranking is based on 30 percent College Readiness, 20 percent State Assessment Proficiency which is the number of students taking the ACT; 20 percent State Assessment Performance which is how well they scored on the ACT; 10 percent on Underserved Student Performance; 10 percent College Curriculum breadth; and 10 percent on College graduation rate which Chandler’s was 97 percent.
“It’s a culmination of what these kids have done since they’ve been in school. The teachers and principals have set high expectations for these kids,” he believes.
“It’s a credit to our teachers, principals, parents and our community. It’s an effort of everybody, a long process of when these kids got started in elementary school,” Baade added, “stressing it’s not just one administration.”
