No flag at the football game

On Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at the Joe Telford football field in Chandler, as everyone in attendance stood for the playing of our National Anthem, it was with embarrasment and great disheartening to discover NO flag flying on the pole or anywhere on the field.

It may seem like a minor mistake to some, but here in reality, it’s much more than that. With many veterans at our games, the American flag should have been there. No excuses!

If you live in this country, America, I hope you understand that your freedom isn’t free. It did come at a cost. We had to fight for what is right and we will continue to protect and serve.

The only two people who willingly laid down their life for you is Jesus Christ and the American soldier!

Do better, Chandler, because one day if our freedoms in this country ever get taken away, you will be mounring over what we once had under Old Glory!

Be proud to be an American. It is a privilege. I hope to see our flag and its Glory at the playoffs Friday night, especially since it is Veterans Night.

Thank you to all who have served or are serving. We will see you, support you, have your back because you have our backs first!

Thank you and God bless you.
