I have a good update on Janet Place Huwar. She was released from the hospital and moved to Buckner Parkway Place, Skilled Nursing Facility. With physical therapy and prayers, Janet will get stronger every day and hopefully return to her home soon.

If you would like to send Janet a card, her address is 1321 Park Bayou Drive, Room 125, Houston, TX 77077.

We have a new bike rider in our family. Lincoln learned to ride his bike while he was off for Christmas break. Both boys received bikes last year for Christmas and August mastered the skill last year.

Lincoln is a year younger, but he was ready to tackle it this year. He was proud of himself, and I was proud for him. Always remember when you’re driving the streets of Stroud, kids are out playing and riding their bikes so slow down in residential areas.

Their basketball team also played Wellston on Saturday. They didn’t take home the win but did hustle and ran plays working as a team. They improve each game which is what this level of play is about. Lincoln scored six points and Mason McCammon scored three.

January can be a slow month of sales for merchants due to shorter daytime hours, colder weather and tighter budgets after the holidays. That makes it even more important to support our local merchants during this time. They’ll be watching for you! Have a great week and thank you for choosing to shop local…………….first!
