Activities happening in our community are Route 66 Metal Detecting Club today, Thursday February 22nd at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, Stroud Community Clothing Center also open today, Thursday February 22nd from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on West Highway 66 and Stroud Food Pantry open 9:00 a.m. until 11:45 on Tuesday February 27th.
The Chris Argrow 3ON3 Memorial Basketball Tournament will be held on Saturday March 9th at the Stroud Memorial Gym. The tournament is from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and admission is $1.00. Come out and support this worthy cause.
Stroud Schools will be presenting “Little Shop of Horrors” on March 9th at 7:00 p.m. and March 10th at 2:00 p.m. The performances will take place at the Stroud High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.
Stroud Chamber of Commerce will host their annual banquet and awards ceremony on Tuesday March 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the Route 66 Coliseum. Individual tickets are $30 and corporate tables are also available. You may purchase tickets by contacting any board member. Board members are Erin Bradley, Logan Miller, Bob Pearman, Kyle Anderson, Brandon Morgan, Peter Kelly, and Mike Horwath.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 24th to donate blood at the “Stand Tall and Donate” blood drive. It will be held at First Baptist Church from noon until 3:30 p.m. at the FBC Family Center. To make an appointment call Debbie Henley at 918-290-0288.
Services were held this past Friday for our community’s beloved Dr. Conrad Markert. He began practicing medicine in Stroud in 1964 when he entered into practice with his medical school classmate Dr. William Jones, another beloved Stroud doctor. Dr. Markert will be sorely missed in Stroud and the surrounding communities. Town Talk sends heartfelt condolences to the entire Markert family.
