Thanksgiving is fast approaching but Christmas is also in the air in downtown Stroud. James Stroud, Billi Kaye Smith Meacham, Henry Starr, and Jim Thorpe are already donning their elf hats as they patiently wait for the Christmas Tree Lighting to take place on Saturday November 16th. Be sure to check them out. They are in the windows of the former Okie Steak House building which is directly west of the Stroud Liquor Store. Thank you to Gene and Debbie McElroy for allowing us to display them. We had to find them a new home after the Horn building burned.

I’ve learned that you must get your Thanksgiving meal ingredients early. In past years I have waited until a day or two before the holiday never expecting them to run out of the basics but boy, was I wrong. Don’t delay, shop our merchants today for all your holiday needs. Your family might be disappointed if there is no green bean casserole this year. Have a great week and thank you for shopping local…………..first!
