17 locals make honor roll at OBU

Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, recently announced the students named to the university’s academic honor roll for the fall 2023 semester. Seventeen students from the region were named to three different lists.

On the President’s Honor Roll are: Hank Childress, McLoud, Oklahoma, Management; Jessica Ellis, Meeker, Oklahoma, Exercise Science/Pre-Allied Health; Airalee Evans, Carney, Oklahoma, Nursing; Morgan Hamel, McLoud, Oklahoma, Nursing; Karson Holsapple, Prague, Oklahoma, Exercise Science/Pre-Allied Health; Ireland McKibbon, McLoud, Oklahoma, Exercise Science/Human Performance; Megan Quirk, McLoud, Oklahoma, Vocal Music Education; Abigail Ryan, Chandler, Oklahoma, Art; Addison Ryan, Chandler, Oklahoma, Creative Writing; and Trenton Summers, Meeker, Oklahoma, Exercise Science/Pre-Allied Health.

On the Dean’s Honor Roll are: Andrew Gardner, McLoud, Oklahoma, Finance; Jacob Ostrowski, Chandler, Oklahoma, Exercise Science/Human Performance; Jorge Tapia, Prague, Oklahoma, Nursing; Faith Wright, McLoud, Oklahoma, Nursing; and Quinntin Wynn, McLoud, Oklahoma, Management.

On the Bison Honor Roll are: Holden Gramling, McLoud, Oklahoma, Undecided and Jeffery Smith, McLoud, Oklahoma, Undecided.

Students who obtained a semester grade point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale were named to the President’s Honor Roll. The Dean’s Honor Roll are students that have achieved a GPA of between 3.4 and 3.69, while part-time students who complete six to 11 semester hours in a semester with a GPA of 3.4 and no grade lower than C made the Bison Honor Roll.
