Last weekend my wife Pat and I journeyed down to our place at Lake Eufaula.
It was the first time for us to go there for the weekend since late July. Our good friends Gary and Charlotte Barnett, who have a trailer right next to ours, hadn’t been there since that time and they joined us.
Pat and I had gone down the middle weekend in July a couple of weeks before and that had been the first time since Gary and I had winterized our trailers last December.
We had really nice weather last weekend. It was about 20 degrees or more cooler than the last time when temperatures were above the century mark.
We had a mixture of sunshine and clouds both days.
Sunday turned out to be a little warmer than Saturday, but it was still nice. Not much of a breeze on either day though.
It was cool enough Friday evening that we sat around the fire for awhile just relaxing and visiting.
Our goal was not to do any work around there or at least not much and just take it easy.
We were there to just relax and goof off a little.
A lot of times we eat most of our meals out. We always take stuff to snack on and occasionally take some food for lunch.
There is one place in Eufaula we really like for lunch.
But we changed our routine a little and had dinner there on Friday evening.
Gary and I went into Checotah for breakfast on Saturday morning and that’s just our thing we like to do.
When we got back to the trailers, it wasn’t long before the four of us headed up to Muskogee.
We ran across a Farmer’s Market and spent some time there, then headed off to a flea market that Pat and Charlotte wanted to visit.
After we did that, it was time to find some lunch before heading back to our trailers.
We found a restaurant that also had a bakery in it and that was enjoyable as well.
Once arriving back at the trailers, it was a good time to rest and take naps for awhile until around 5 or so.
A little later we drove into Eufaula for a light dinner.
Sunday morning the four of us headed up to Checotah where he had breakfast at a restaurant.
One thing about going to the lake, as any of you who do that or have done it know, we don’t hungry.
We spent most of the rest of the time just visiting and taking it easy.
Later that afternoon, it was time to trek back to Shawnee. After Pat cleaned our trailer and I took the trash to the dumpsters, we headed for home.
It was an enjoyable weekend at the lake with good friends.
