Week of March 23-28 Carney
For the week: 4-1. Wins over Glencoe (12-3), Crooked Oak (13-0), Coyle (12-0). Loss to Arnett. Record:4-1 The Lady Bulldogs started their season with authority, winning their first three games by a combined score of 37-3.
Emmalynn Drake had four singles and Gracie Hernandez had a double and two singles to spark a 19hit attack against Glencoe. Ashtyn Stokes, Bre Neal, Chloe Freeman and Summer Keller all had doubles, and Stokes,, Sara Kirkpatrick and Italy Ventris had two knocks apiece.
Ventris was back with a big stick on Tuesday, hitting two triples and driving in five runs against Crooked Oak. Macy Hubach singled and doubled and Kirkpatrick and Keller each had a pair of singles.
The Lady Bulldogs pounded Coyle on Thursday, spreading out a dozen hits with every player in the lineup getting at least one. Stokes and Neal had triples and Kirkpatrick doubled. Rightfielder Neal had three RBI.
Chandler
For the week: 3-3. Wins over Meeker (18-0), Drumright (8-0), Perkins (4-3) Losses to Prague (133), Perkins(4-3) and Kellyville (15-4). Record: 6-7, ranked No. 9 in Class 5A.
Against Perkins, the Lady Lions parlayed a sacrifice fly by Elli Hilgenfeld and heads-up base-running by Brenlee Corea into the winning runs in a 4-3 victory.
Hilgenfeld was at the plate with one out in the bottom of the second with pinch-runner Maddie Herring on third, Rylie Hughey on second and Corea on first. Hilgenfield hit a fly to centerfield, scoring Herring and advancing Hughey to third. The nimble Corea created a run-down, allowing Hughey to score with what proved to be the winning run.
Against Meeker, Corea and Kennedy Allen had three hits and two RBI each and Madison Cagle knocked in four runs in the run-rule win.
Allen had two doubles and Corea and Cagle both tripled. Ruthie Capps had a pair of doubles, while Rylee Capps and Hilgenfeld had one each.
Against Prague, Payslee Massengale had a double and single.
The Lady Lions rebounded from the Prague loss by blanking Drumright, 8-0, on Thursday. Ruthie Capps poled a two-run homer and Allen doubled and had three RBI. Cagle doubled and Halle Herrmann had two singles and a pair of RBI.
Dale
For the week: 9-1. Wins over Little Axe (17-1 and 230), Tecumseh (7-4), North Rock Creek (12-1), Amber-Pocasset (10-0), Washington (17-13), McLoud (16-0), Berryhill (13-0), Lexington (23-5). Loss to Choctaw (14-6). Record: 9-1, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A.
The DLPs had seriously explosive bats last week, bashing 19 home runs in their 10 games.
Kelbey Welcher led the way with 10, including three in the win over Washington and two against Little Axe.
Kinley Patten and Daley Lang had three each, with Patten hitting one in the first game against Little Axe and two in the second and Lang going yard twie against Amber-Pocasset and once against Lexington.
Holland Herring, Reese Herring and Boo Herber hit one each.
Welcher drove home 26 runs during the week, Patten knocked in 17, Lang 15, Herber 14 and Holland Herring 13.
Davenport
For the week: 2-4. Wins over Arnett (18-7) and Little Axe (16-5). Losses to Ripley (4-2), Roff (6-4), Leedey
(18-8) and Porum (6-5).. Record: 5-9, ranked No. 10 in Class A.
Davenport trailed Arnett 5-2 going into the bottom of the fourth on Thursday, but the Lady Bulldogs scored 16 runs in their final two at-bats to secure the run-rule win.
Left fielder Briley Hauk had a double, a single and four RBI; Autumn Gaylord had three hits; Jaz Williams turned four walks into three runs scored; and ShaeLynn Clark, Landry Miller, Charlie Adams and Lila Stancell had two RBI each.
They followed a similar script against Little Axe, trailing 5-0 before exploding for nine runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth.
Gabby Murfin drove in three runs with two singles and Nevah Ray had a double, two singles and two RBI.
Caden Blair had a double, two RBI and scored a run and Landry Miller had a double and two runs batted in.
Against Ripley, Murfin had a home run and a single and Miller had two hits.
In the Roff game, Davenport led until the top of the seventh, when the Lady Tigers plated five runs.
Blair led Davenport at the plate, with three singles in three trips to the plate. Murfin and Miller each had singles.
McLoud
For the week: 7-1. Wins over Norman (16-4), Perkins (6-5) Guthrie (14-0), Lexington (19-4), Berryhill (203), Amber-Pocasset (14-2), Lexington (11-1). Loss to Dale (16-0) Record: 11-5, ranked No. 6 in Class 5A.
The Lady Redskins started their week with an offensive explosion, banging 19 hits against Norman.
Ava Ashley went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI, Taycee Lewis was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Kayse Higdon was 3-for-4 and scored three runs; Miley Hicklin stroked a home run, Jasci Schafer was 2-for-5 with a double and Lexy Patterson scored three runs.
Against Perkins on Tuesday, Makenzie Lane had two triples and a double and drove in two runs. Ashley and Hicklin had doubles and Lewis had three hits.
The Lady Redskins pounded out 13 hits in four innings against Guthrie. Macen Fixico led the onslaught with a double and a single and five RBI. Patterson homered, Schafer had a triple and Lewis doubled, singled, scored three times and drove home two runs.
The Lady Redskins racked up doubles in a 14-hit attack against Amber-Pocasset. Higdon and Lewis had two each and Ashley, Soward, Jaylin Robles and Hicklin had one apeice. Lewis had four RBI and Hicklin drove in three runs.
They wrapped up the week with a second win over Lexington. Patterson had a triple and four RBI and Higdon had three hits and three runs driven. Lewis was a benficiary of those hits, scoring four runs.
Meeker
For the week: 0-3. Losses to Chandler (18-0), Cushing (12-0), Morrison (14-1). Record:1-6.
Runs were hard to come for the Lady Bulldogs as they faced three ranked teams in a row.
Hazel Wahpepah was 5-for-6 in those three games and scored the run against Morrison on a double by Layla Carter.
North Rock Creek
For the week: 2-5 Losses to Washington (13-0), Dale (11-1), Tecumseh (6-5), Deer Creek (7-4) and Morrison (7-5). Wins over Drumright (10-0) and Hominy (13-4). Record: 3-7, ranked No 13 in Class 5A.
Jaden Clifton hammered a grand slam and a pair of singles against Deer Creek Thursday.
NRC used a seven-run fourth inning to put away Drumright Friday at the Ripley Festival. Sophie Morris paced the Lady Cougars’ 10-hit attack with a triple and single and three RBI. Clifton also had a triple and a single and scored a pair of runs.
Aspyn Harder knocked in two runs and Sophie Morris had a double, a single and three runs knocked in.
Morris had two more doubles and two RBI against Hominy. Clifton also doubled and drove home two runs.
Prague
For the week: 5-0. Wins over Byng (17-9), Chandler (13-3), Preston (11-10) and Dewar (14-1). Record: 7-2, ranked No. 13 in Class 4A.
Brennyn Smith and Kasey Cantrell homered and combined for seven hits and seven RBI in the win against Byng. Keira Carter, Dusti Gregory and Emma Hinkle each had two hits and two RBI. Prague unleashed 22 hits and every player in the lineup had at least one.
Carter didn’t slow down on Tuesday against Chandler, stroking a double and two singles and driving home five runners. Jaxcyn Goodnight also had three RBI.
Against Chandler, Keira Carter doubled, singled twice knocked in five runs.
Goodnight was 2-for-3 with three RBI, Smith doubled and drove in three runs and Gregory converted three walks into three runs.
Prague held off a Preston rally in the bottom of the seventh to get the win on Friday.
Maddi Roberts muscled up for a triple, two singles and four RBI. Ainsley Auld tripled and Smith and Gregory both had doubles.
The Lady Devils pounded out 19 hits against Dewar, with four coming from shortstop Auld. She had two triples and two singles, drove in three runs and scored once.
Roberts homered and singled and scored three times, Taelyr Norman doubled, singled and drove in a pair and Gregory tripled, singled twice and knocked in three runs.
Goodnight and Carter had doubles.
Stroud
For the week: 4-3. Wins over Perkins (10-7), Earlsboro (11-4), Dewar (8-0) and Dibble (21-14). Losses to Strother (25-10), Bethel (13-0) and Minco (14-3). Record: 7-6.
Carly Miller had a pair of singles and three RBI against Earlsboro and Carlee Williams had three hits.
Against Perkins, Brynleigh Bell stroked a triple and two singles and drove hime three runs.. Brennyn Neeley had a pair of hits and Miyah Clark had a double.
The game against Strother was a slugfest with the teams combining for 29 hits. For Stroud, Miller had three hits and Clark and Cami Wilson had two each. Bell had a double.
Williams had three hits nad scored two runs against Earlsboro and Clark banged a doubled and scored twice.
Miller had three hits and three RBI against Dewar and Sally Campbell scored three times. Bell had a double and a single and knocked in two runs
