Life in the fast lane

Pat and I kept our grandson overnight last week to give our daughter Meghan and her husband Terry an opportunity to celebrate their wedding anniversary. They were married six years ago in early December but hadn’t been able to celebrate their anniversary.

Hearing for Chandler man

Pre-preliminary hearings have been set for a Chandler man facing multiple felonies in three separate cases. Christopher Allen Michael Hyde, 20, was charged Nov. 10 in Lincoln County District Court with knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property.

Lincoln County Commissioners meeting

Lincoln County commissioners this week voted to divvy up equally the apportionment ratio of County Improvement Road and Bridge funds. With their vote, they each will receive 33 and a third percent of the funds.

Third charge against Prague man

A Prague man already facing two felony charges has been charged with a third felony and a misdemeanor. An original charge of Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation was formally filed against Alpha Randolph Woody, Jr., 60, on Oct.

Time for New Year’s Resolutions

It’s that time of year again to write down the resolutions for the coming 12 months. I’m curious to see what 2022 will bring. One of mine is to continue having the willingness to take on improvements around the house and the yard.

Town Talk

It is hard to believe this is the last paper for 2021. Stroud experienced many blessings as well as losses. Our community was hit hard this past year with the deaths of too many of our citizens. Let’s continue to remember those families with our prayers and acts of kindness.

A young man is alive today and able to enjoy Christmas because some people were concerned enough about him 3 ½ years to speak up and notify authorities.

Memories of Christmas time

Seventy years ago today my mother passed away. She had turned 30 only four months before. Today, as I have done for many, many years, I’ll lay a wreath at her grave commemorating her death. If alive today, she would be 100 years old.

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just two days away and 2021 is quickly coming to a close. Stroud has had a good year with many improvements taking place in our community. I can’t wait to see what all we accomplish this next year.

Relishing memories of going hunting

After finishing up putting some Christmas lights around our patio last Saturday afternoon, I took a breather and just sat down in my chair. Saturday had turned out to be a pretty nice day with a slight northerly breeze after a chilly morning.
