To The Editor, Well, I’ve spent most of the past two years just sitting around watching the news and thinking. Yeah, I know, but I’ve come up with some pretty good ideas. All this talk about proof of vaccinations is very important.

Pre-preliminary hearings have been scheduled for two men charged with murder in connection with the death of a former Midwest City Marine. Charges of accessory to after the fact to first degree murder against two men have been dismissed in Lincoln County but refiled in another county.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation back in December sent out a list of proposed changes related to hunting and fishing. The ODWC does this each year and seeks input from the public. The agency provides three ways those people who are interested in responding can do so.

Well, I didn’t start off 2022 with a bang. I missed the deadline last week on getting Town Talk into the newspaper. Town Talk projects and community activities slow down during this cold weather so sometimes there’s not much news to tell you.

Meeker keeps Pruitt as superintendent

The Meeker Board of Education this week voted to offer a contract to School Supt. Jeff Pruitt for the 2022-2023 school year. The board went into executive session before returning to the open meeting and taking the vote.

I got home Monday evening and wanted to look at something in the back yard. So, I slipped through the back gate, stomped around for a few minutes and then headed back out. It was dusk, so you could see things in general, but not a lot of details on the ground.
