Meeker holds off Crossings

Trailing 17-6 at the half and 24-12 in the third quarter, Meeker coach D.J. Howell made an offensive adjustment that looked like a pure attempt to old-school the Crossings Christian Knights Friday.

Playoffs take on a new look

The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletic Association announced recently that it’s modifying this year’s high school football playoffs. All schools may qualify for the playoffs, if they desire, the OSSAA said.

McLoud cruises past BC

Daylight football seems to agree with Clint Campbell. The sophomore running back from McLoud bulldozed for a touchdown in the first quarter and ran for two long ones later in the game to lead the Redskins to a 42- 28 thumping of Bridge Creek.

The Davenport Bulldogs ran their record to 8-0 with thrashings of Prue and Drumight the last two weeks. The Bulldogs put a 56-6 hurting on Prue two weeks ago, then beat Drumright 50-0 Friday. Davenport vs.

Prague FFA freshman members took part recently in Freshmen Opening and Closing Ceremonies Team competitions. The contests are training for students to work together as a team and prepare for competitive public speaking.

Late pick seals Prague win

Prague freshman Aiden Auld intercepted a pass in the end zone with 15 seconds left Thursday to preserve a wild 36-30 win over Crossings Christian. The game started like a track meet, with neither team able to slow the other, but morphed into a defense-dominated game in the second half.

District race hits the home stretch

The COVID-influenced race in District 2A-2 is down to its final three games, barring any makeups, with the standings beginning to shape up for the playoff berths.

Millwood downs Lions, 36-14

Sophomore quarterback Rickey Hunt scored Millwood’s first 28 points of the game and led the Falcons to a 36-14 win over the Lions Friday night. Hunt ran for two scores in the first quarter, including a 72-yarder, one in the second and one in the third.
