Regent Prep gives Bulldogs first loss of season

Regent Prep put up a flurry of points early and late and held on for a 62-58 win over Davenport Friday night. The Rams scored the first 21 points of the game and 19 of the last 25. Once they scored, the Bulldogs made up ground in a hurry, going from 21-0 down to a 24- 21 lead .

Chandler, Stroud qualify for state

Chandler, Stroud qualify for state

Cheer squads from Chandler and Stroud qualified for the Game Day State Competition over the weekend at the regional competition at the 66 Coliseum in Stroud. Stroud, above, scored 394.4 and finished in a tie for 12th with Ketchum in Class 2A while Chandler, top, scored 394.

Lady Tigers score post-season fast-pitch awards

In addition to placing two players on the All-State team, Stroud put several players on the All-Conference, All-District and All-Region team. All-Region players were for the small east team were Jadyn Young, Emma Davis, Macey Morris and Skyla Baker. Lezli Robinson was named the All-Region coach.

Lions 48, Ponies 34

Chandler spotted the Kellyville Ponies a couple of early touchdowns, but old-schooled their way to a 48-34 district win Friday night. The Lions outgained Kellyville, 506-206, with Casmen Hill collecting 341 of the yards on 42 rushing attempts. As a team, the Lions ran it 54 times for 432 yards.

State cross-country meet

Schools in our area put five individuals and three teams in the top three in regional cross-country meets last week, and they and others will compete in the state meet on Wednesday. Riley Randall from Meeker, above, took first in the Class 3A regional at Oklahoma Bible Academy with a 16:24.

Post-season fastpitch honors

Dale seniors Emelia Idleman and Danyn Lang were named to the All-State team for fastpitch this week. Idleman and Lang played in the state championship for four years and won two of them.
