Several area cross-country teams and runners qualified for state during the regional meets held on Saturday. Top, Jordyn Neeley from Stroud motors through the Class 2A regional, held at North Rock Creek. She finished ninth, with a time of 13:38.

Chandler rolled past Tulsa Central, 476, Friday night, setting up a showdown this week for second place in the district and a home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs.The Lions and Sperry have matching 4-1 district records, and will meet Friday night at Sperry.

Chandler got a no-hitter from junior Kennedy Allen in the first round and made it to the semifinals of the state tournament before falling to eventual state champion Lone Grove last week.It capped a remarkable season for the Lady Lions, who finished 35-6.

Lions rout Westville, 42-16

Chandler took Westville to the woodshed Thursday night, beating the Yellowjackets 42-16 in a game that was not as close as the final score.The Lions led 42-0 at the half and the clock ran continuously in the second half except for one injury timeout.
