Hearing set for driver after two-car crash

A pre-preliminary hearing has been set for a driver from Shawnee facing a felony count and a misdemeanor charge following a two-vehicle personal injury traffic collision at U.S. 177 and Highway 66 near Wellston.

Davenport falls to Yale, 49-0

Playing their final non-district game of the season on the road against No. 2 ranked Yale, the Davenport Bulldogs suffered a 49-0 defeat.Coach John Greenfield said Monday, “We took the game to the fourth quarter. We’re the first team to take them past half time so far this season,” he noted.

November trial set for Sparks man

A Sparks man facing four felonies and a couple of misdemeanors has waived a jury trial and his bench trial has been scheduled for November.Formal felony charges were filed May 4, 2022 in Lincoln County District Court against James Leonard Smothers, 41 following his arrest by Lincoln County deputies.

Chandler scored almost every way imaginable Friday night and dominated Sequoyah Tahlequah, 49-7, in the district opener for both teams.

Stroud steamrolls Kellyville

Stroud’s Tigers scored all they needed to in the first half and walloped Kallyville, 55-21, Friday night.The Tigers, ranked No. 2 in Division 2A-II, moved to 4-0 for the season and 1-0 in the district. They head to Meeker Friday night for their second district game.

Chandler played up two classes and took on one of the state’s blueblood programs Friday to close out the nondistrict portion of its season.The Lions scheduled the game against 17-time state champion Clinton as a measuring stick and, even though they lost, 21-0, head coach Jack Gray like what he saw.

Lincoln County commissioners this week opened bids on the construction of the OSU Extension Building and approved submitting the budget request to the budget maker.Thirteen different companies submitted bids on the building project.
